Up close and personal interview with our newest member of the team:
Beth The Bohemian Blogger
We would like to introduce the newest member to the Lunamar Family whom is Bethanny our Bohemmian Blogger. I had the fabulous opportunity of Facetiming this beautiful ball of energy. We spent an hour of laughing, exchanging stories, a soul sister for sure I could call her, it felt like I had known her for ages. Bethanny who is a Native Indonesian spent the past four years in Taiwan finishing up her studies as a Spanish Major. Bethanny who can speak four different languages has a true passion for life and connecting with all types of people.
Growing up in Indonesia, Beth told me that people are very conservative. In some more conservative provinces, it is not very acceptable for a couple to walk around the streets hand in hand unless they are married. The way women dress, they should be covered up as much as they can, skin is only for the bedroom. “Bikinis don’t exist too much on the beach either, except for the tourists that wear them.” As Beth explained to me that most women normally wear t-shirts and shorts to the beach.
This is then where Beth was inspired and found Lunamar in 2015, and fell in love with the project. She fell in love with the designs of the bikinis and what Lunamar represented.
She told me how empowered she felt the first time she put her bikini on.
Something that Beth pointed out to me that it is a privilege for so many to feel free in what they wear. Our bodies are something we should be proud of and feel comfortable and sexy in and we should be able to wear whatever we want because we are human beings and we are free in the way we want to express ourselves.
An energized happy soul, is what comes to mind when I know think of Beth. She now is finishing up her Masters in Spanish Literature in University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She will be going to the Galapagos Islands after Christmas and has plans in the future to travel to Costa Rica and volunteer at a turtle sanctuary. The world is awaiting your beauty B! Look forward to you visiting in Mexico!
Fun Fact: She is a little firecracker and knows how to belly dance. She loves dancing to reggaetón music as well!
